February 2nd – A Great Start

As the title says, yesterday was a great way to start a new month.  I woke up early, got to work early, and was able to get a lot done.  I love productive days.   I left work on time and was able to get to the gym before my class.   Being on a tight schedule, I started on the treadmill and started fairly fast.  I was able to run a half mile at 6mph before slowing to 5mph.  I completed the three miles, alternating between 5mph and 6mph every half mile, in just over a half hour.  It felt great.

After a quick shower I headed off to my class.  The class I am taking is called The Quest For Authentic Manhood and is put on by a local church I have been attending.   I signed up because it seemed like a great way to make some new friends while learning about myself and the kind of man I want to be.  The curriculum, while based on the Bible, is more psychological and sociological than theological.  The first class was exciting and I have already made some new friendships.

I woke up with sore legs this morning so I am nervous about my after-work run.  My right calf was cramping a little after my run yesterday and is still a little sore today so I am going to start by stretching and walking a little and then see how far I can go.  Hopefully the soreness will work itself out in the warm-up and the run will go well.
