February 22nd – Home Again Home Again

February 22, 2010

I am really happy to be home this week.  I ended up flying back to Medford late Friday night and went right to bed.  Friday was a little bit of a stressful day at work so I didn’t have any time for running.  In fact I left work late and almost missed my flight.   I was late checking in so I had to run to security.  I was held up at security (due to some dangerous toothpaste) so I had to run to my gate.  My plan left from the “S” gate of SEA-TAC so I had take a train to the other side of the airport.  I arrived at the gate at the time my plane was scheduled to leave so the gate attendant wasn’t very happy to see me run up to the desk.  I proceeded to tell her the story of my day and my airport ordeal.  I just wanted to go home.  She was awesome.  She called the plane and had them come back for me.  I have never been happier to be on a plane.  I love to travel but I also love going home.

I didn’t do any running this weekend.  Instead, I spent the time with friends, unwinding from my trip.  It was a beautiful weekend and I spent most of it outside.  I am really excited to see the weather improving.

I woke up early this morning and headed to the gym.   I only ran a mile and my legs were sore the entire time.  I had an active weekend so I think I wasn’t really ready to run.   I am glad to be running in the morning again.
