February 18th – Great Day

February 18, 2010

I am having a great day today.   I woke up to a beautiful view this morning.  I am staying in the same place as last week but today is the first time I didn’t wake up to a blanket of fog.  I took these pictures from the back deck while drinking my morning coffee.

I had a great day at work as well.  My new job has me travelling to the main office one week out of the month.  This first month, however, I was required to come back and stay until the website launched.  There was a lot of work involved but I was able to finish my part around 3pm this afternoon so I am able to book my plane ticket tomorrow.  I like to travel and I like the area but I am really looking forward to going home.

I had a great run today.   It was such a beautiful day that I almost ran outside.  Being in an unfamiliar area, and looking forward to my after-run workout, I opted for a treadmill run at the gym instead.  I am happy to be running comfortably again.  I think I am finally getting over the treadmill boredom and finding ways to occupy my brain instead of focusing on my fatigue level.  I ran a comfortable three miles in just about a half hour.

My plan is to take tomorrow off and definitely get in an outside run this weekend.  I can’t wait!

Congrats on the new job. That sounds exciting. Seattle is a GREAT place to run. I lived there for almost 10 yrs. If you are anywhere near the Burke-Gilman trail, that’s a very safe and pleasant place to run. Discovery Park is also wonderful to run in. just tons and tons of places to get in scenic runs actually.
