November 16th – Busy Weekend

November 16, 2009

I had a fairly busy weekend. I didn’t expect to hang out with my kids as my youngest had a birthday party to attend and my oldest was hanging out at her grandma’s.  Saturday morning, I was pleasantly surprised by a phone call,  from my girls,  asking if I wanted to hang out.   We ended up dropping my youngest off at the birthday party and then I spent the afternoon hanging out with my oldest girl and ex-wife.  We ended up going out to eat and just driving around until the birthday party was over.  It was nice.  Things with my ex are pretty good so it wasn’t uncomfortable.  Later that evening I took a friend out to dinner and then went bowling.  I hadn’t been bowling since I was hanging out with my brother in Portland.  I had forgotten most of what I learned from my bro but it was still a good time.   I spent Sunday at my Grandma’s place.   Sunday evening was spent in the Medford airport awaiting  my Uncle who is returning on leave from Iraq.  We didn’t know exactly which flight was his.  My cousin was so excited to see his dad, he kept going to the upstairs observation area (in the cold) and watching the planes land.  It turned out there wasn’t enough room on the flight he was scheduled to take so wasn’t able to get a flight last night.   I haven’t heard anything this morning so I am going to call my grandma in a few minutes and get an update.

I didn’t do any running this weekend.  I tried to join the gym in Central Point but the facility isn’t staffed on Sundays.  I am going to go back after work today, sign up, and get a workout.  I am looking forward to making the gym part of my routine.
